As for the guy up above with the saccing story in New Tombs, your teammate was right. Your health doesn't come back any faster. Your bar fills up faster and you reach your max health faster, but that's the only change. That happens because of the reduced health. Either way your system does work. You're both right.

Anyway, were probably half-way through the mission and there is a huge army of minions that have been amassed. Then the next thing we know we are smack dab in the midde of a sea of red. Tons of enemy all around attacking us and mowed us down very quickly. After the dust settles only the level 9 necro is left with a giant army of minions.

He never responded to anyone so we all left, but all we could figure is the stupid punk used Verata's Gaze or something like that and broke all the minions bond with their masters and they all destroyed us. What an ass. I wasn't really upset, but I do think it was pretty childish though.

Well, verata's gaze only works on 1 undead at a time, and if you are breaking the bond, it becomes hostile to everyone, and would have killed him too, also, if ur talking bout a big army it takes to long to target each of them and turn them against team, so i doubt that....

Odds are, that the 2 lvl 20 MM killed themselves to turn the army against you...

2, lvl 20 MM sac to kill party, 99% chance
1 lvl 9 gazing and taking over all them, but not dying at same time 1% chance....

Perhaps this is not being posted in the right thread, as it is more about the things jerks do rather than a specific jerk…

Lately I have been doing a lot of farming in Corrupted Tombs… Is it me, or does everybody else notice the lack of peoples reading comprehension lately… I announce “EXP Monk looking for EXP B/P group only”… A few different things happen…

I get invited to a mixed group, now you might say I am the jerk here but after joining and seeing 2 wars and an ele I say “do you read” and leave before they launch…

I get invited to a group and realize one or both of the necro’s also have pets…

I get asked what does B/P mean, to which I reply EXP means experienced…

When playing as a MM with the same announce line I get invited to a group where the heal monk has a pet… Of course I do not know this until launch… I ask why the monk has a pet to get what does it matter from a few of the players… I explain why a monk does not use a pet to get leave if you want to we do not need you… So I leave…

I have to explain why I do not want the monk or the orders necro to heal the minions…

It does not seem to be getting better only worse as time go’s on…

I understand that you are looking for a specific group build here.....but what exactly is the point of being jerky to someone just because they asked you a question. Its not all that hard to not know what the latest vague abbreviation means. This guy was just asking for info not necessarily asking to be in your EXP group.

I wouldn't get too upset if someone asks you a question about running around in Tombs. They're just trying to find out if you're REALLY experienced in doing Tombs. The group I run with quizzes pick-up people on the run just to find out if they really do know the run like they say they do. I don't know how many times we'd get to the courtyard and an "EXP" player says "Wow, I've never made it this far before!" (Not that we'd kick anyone for inexperience, as everyone's gotta learn sometime )

Yep, they gotta learn, but they don't have to lie. I am willing to teach, but I will punish someone for lying.

Jerk: I have one i can sell for 30k.

Me: Omg are u sure, think its worth a lot more.

Jerk: Yes im sure and its not Victos, its called Thorgalls Shield.

Me: Eh, Victos Shield is the new green from ToPK.

Jerk: There is no such shield as Victos. Thorgalls is the shield that pwns here.

Me: Lol no ty. (Was to busy Lmao to say anything else).

Jerk: OMFG u Noob etc. etc. (standard flame from him).

What made this worse was this was happening at ToPK. Lol if this dude was trying to pull a fast one on someone you would think he would try it in the earlier areas (Ascalon).

Not really a biggest jerk story, but I love when this happens. I formed a party the other day to help a monk friend get through Thunderhead Keep mission. Another friend playing necro was also along, so we started out with three. Not wanting to take a lot of time to get the party together, I just blind invited 2 Elementalists, a Ranger and a Warrior, and we took a henchy Monk. So while waiting for everyone to get their skills ready, the Ranger gives the "gogogogo" shout. In my parties, this would normally be grounds for a kick, but I decided to ignore it. Finally everyone was ready except my Necro friend who was still fiddling with what skills to take. Then I get a whisper from the Ranger "can't we kick the necro?".

Now this is funny! This player was so impatient to get going, he asked me to kick a party member not realizing it was one of my friends! So without a word I kicked the ranger, and explained to the rest of the team that we needed to find one more, as the Ranger decided not to join us.

By the way, I probably would have kicked the ranger even if the necro wasn't my friend. I don't like having impatient people in my party (makes for poor team play). And it certainly is a sign of poor sportsmanship to suggest kicking someone just because that player needs a few minutes more to adjust skills or clear out inventory or whatever.

As it turns out my friends and I did not get very far in the mission with that party anyway. One of the Elementalists lagged out at the very start (or possibly left on purpose, but there was no real reason for that so I assume a disconnect) and suddenly the others in the group decided we couldn't continue because of "the leaver" and so all should die so we could restart. The other elementalist started to insist that we needed instead to take a third monk. After explaining that 1) it is possible to complete the mission with 7 and 2) that no party should ever need to have more than 2 Monks, I decided this was not the group to do the mission with. My friends and I then did it with a completely new group.

I farmed a very tasty fire wand out of a Hydra the other day (gold, max, 9%recharge and casting all spells) and decided to flog it>

So this guy's interested, but he's level 7, so i think perhaps he's not going to have the gold

Me: What's your budget?
Him: 3K
Me: Ok, sorry but I was looking for more.

*cancel trade dialogue*
*he re-opens dialogue*

Him: how much?
Me: 1 sec pls
Him: HOW ****ING MUCH?
Me: I'm thinking
Him: HOW MUCH?
Him: HOW MUCH?
Him: HOW MUCH?
Him: HOW MUCH?
Him: HOW MUCH?

*cancel trade dialogue*

and then he logged out. presumably to take his mediaction.

This is the classic nubz0r moment in 5 man oro farming

Warrior - "I GO FIRST OK??"

- the bond monk is in the middle of going down the list with bonds -

Warrior - "BOND ME MONK"

- complete silence from the rest of the team as the monk finishes up his bonds -

- the warrior runs down the hill and directly into agro of both groups -

Warrior - "HEAL" "HEAL" "HEAL" "HEAL" "HEAL" "HEAL"

- the warrior dies because he fails at agro and waiting for the team -

Warrior - "WHY DID U HEAL ME???"

Monk - "I was trying but you ran ahead too far."

Warrior - "OMG"

- the mm (me) manages to get a fiend off of his corpse before he is rebirthed after that the warrior runs back into the group without bonds -

Warrior - "HEAL"

Warrior - "HEAL UR MINIONS THEY R DYIN!!!!"

- we manage to kill both groups thanks to the ss and the monks and even one of them gets a rare from an ice golem -

Warrior - "CAN I HAVE THAT"

Monk - "no."

Warrior - "Y NOT???"

- the monk doesnt say anything and we continue to farm everything goes smoothly until we come to the first boss, during the fight -

Warrior - "I HOPE I GET GREEN"

Warrior - "U SHULD GIVE ME UR GREEN"

- the boss drops a green which is not reserved for him -

Warrior - "OMG PLZ CAN I HAVE THAT????"

SS - "No...... stfu"

- The warrior leaves the game -

Case one

I have recently been playing my Me, doing the mission at Ring of Fire.

A Monk player from Norway behaved immaturely, I mean, a bad mouth, a poor player, and he was not a nice person, so I kicked him, he did not like it, and went on bad mouthing me in the public channel.

I called him a "dick head" in respond in his comments, he then threatening that he would report me to Anet regarding to my use of "cursing". May be the term I used is considered as cursing in Norway, which I apologies, but where I come form, its not considered as that offensive.

I simply laughed on the public channel, then, he framed me saying that I scammed him. Yes, completely come out of the blue.

The best thing to do with immature act like such is to ignore them, so I carried on playing.

But later, me and this Monk from Norway, joined together in a same team, he then said other stupid things such as, "Oh, I forgive you for scamming me", "Oh, I forgive you".

I think he did that by trying to make his lie about me scamming him appear to be more realistic. How childish.

Case two

I was playing a ranger in a barrage team, there was a MM Nerco, playing his summons really far behind, doing almost nothing at all. He said, because he does not want his summons to be attacked by the Shower.

So I said, it was still too far behind nevertheless, and then he began to complain how the rangers did not interrupt all the showers.

There is nothing worse then a rubbish MM or a Monk, with his character such as this, I don’t even want to debate rather we could have made it or not. Since we only started about 5 mins after entered the tomb at the first level, I taken my leave, and went back out looking for another group.

Upon my reloging, all sort of curses was messaged to me by the team leader, yes, this time, they are Real curses. Which I replied as, "morning to you to".

May be I should have ignored it totally, but I wanted to show I bear no grief, don’t know if that was the right move.

About 10 mins later, this problematic MM Nerco messaged me, and was calling me immature names for a while, I wanted to reply saying, "thank you", but only to realize he has put me on his ignore list!

Fine, just leave it, but later, he got a friend of his, messaged me with abuses and curses, but have also said, "I hear from a PRO MM saying you are a n00b, you are such a ****".

And yes, he placed me in his ignore list too. I see very less point in people doing this.

I turned around, realized this MM Nerco was actually behind me, thinking that it was only 10 mins since I left, I guess they could not make it and now blaming me for leaving.

I just recently discovered ToPK. As in, I finally got around to trying it. A friend and I joined a B/P group with our rangers and I told everyone before we started that it was my first time. The run went really well, we lost the monk towards the end of the first level but we decided to continue. Lost a Ranger partway through HoH and still managed to finish and do well. Haven't managed to finish it with my Ranger a second time though.

Today Rangers were very scarce for B/P groups for some reason. Plenty of everything else though. So, I was looking to take in my monk. I had just finished with the necros still in my group and we were looking to fill back up with Rangers. Couldn't find enough, so we took an SS necro instead. Did a spirit check before leaving, and asked people to bring some interupts too.

We got in and discovered that people hadn't brought the spirits that they claimed they had. Also discovered that someone had claimed experience they did not actually have. It is no big deal to be new imo, just don't lie about it, and don't take the lead. Really bad start there, but no one left. The first level goes basically ok, people pulling when I am calling low energy. I asked them to wait for a bit of regen when I call my energy. Other than that crap it was fine.

So as we are loading to the second level, I decide that I want a cup of coffee. As soon as we load one of the necros says "brb." I then said "me too...coffee" at which point I got up to get the creamer out of the fridge. I come back to grab my cup from in front of my monitor and see that someone decided to pull with 2 people afk. If I hadn't forgotten to grab my cup to begin with everyone would have died! I started spamming heals as quick as possible. If I was a quitter that would have been my exit point, I was angry enough I was actually trembling. After that group I had to scream at the puller for a minute, and I wasn't the only one. He tried to argue that no one said they'd be gone. Again, if I was a quitter I would have left at that point. I know it is only a game, but if someone wanted to fail so badly they should have just taken henchies rather then messing with other people.

So, we continued, and the puller continued to pull after I called low energy. I use essense bond for my energy management, combined with blood ritual from a necro every now and then I have no problems normally. I wasn't even getting a second of regen time before the puller was running off again. So, after a bit, I started being one of the annoying monks and spamming energy calls in the hope of making the person stop pulling before people can regen. It did not work. DP started stacking up, I couldn't keep people alive since I couldn't get time to regen my energy. After a little while it was only taking one hit for the necros to die.

I admitt, I started witholding heals from the impatient puller if anyone else had been hit they were healed first. One of the necros had used vengance to res this person(during fight), and they still didnt get that there was a problem. Needless to say, a couple people(3 rangers) got tired of it and left. I wanted to leave, but stayed and tried anyways. The impatient puller left shortly after the other Rangers.

The moral of this story, sometimes a persons name really does say what you'll be getting. When the name mentions wanting to be stoned, you might just be playing with someone who is too stoned to read what is going on with the rest of the group.

I am suprised how many so called jerks you have encountered. During my 6 months of playing this game I've not met many. Well, once when I was doing thunderhead keep mission with bit jerky PUG. Some warriors (me w/mo), two necros, two monks. The problem was that rest of the party except me attacked always other monsters but not healers (I tried to tell em to attack healers), so we eventually died. And after that I did it with henchmen easily.

PS. I have read this thread for some time, but this is my first post I think.

Queen, the person you called Jerk here really did not do anything offensive before your respond of "ffs" was projected first.

If he piss you off because of his chosen location on buying and selling, which is none of your bussiness, and you spoke to him in a rather none polite way in respond, I think in this case, you were the offender.

And it is understandable that he replied with none present words, but I think its natual when he was not doing anything wrong, and was being judged by a ramdom stranger.

Your story is a great reminder for me to speak politey at all time.
